KATC TV 3
"The American Civil Liberties Union has asked the state attorney general to release the results of an investigation into a police roadblock on a major New Orleans bridge after Hurricane Katrina. In a letter to Attorney General Charles Foti, Louisiana ACLU Executive Director Joe Cook said the delay in reporting findings "makes no sense." In late September, less than a month after Katrina hit, Foti said he would conduct a "fact-finding mission" into reports that New Orleans evacuees were blocked by several law enforcement agencies from entering neighboring Jefferson Parish by crossing the Crescent City Connection over the Mississippi River."
Would this be better to investigate than the Doctors and nurses at Memorial?

Hmmmm, let me see....preventing brainless idiots who don't have sense enough to get out of the rain from crossing the river as opposed to a group of medical "professionals" MURDERING THE HELPLESS.
There's an easy answer there somewhere!
BTW, your comment about the commas at H4Ps blog was hilarious!
Here's what I think.
1. The people on the bridge were trying to get to safety by moving from the flooded part of town where they were trapped to a place where they could find water and food and busses to take them away from danger. They were halted by sheriff's deputies who were more afraid of non-existent looters than of losing human lives. (It was not raining at the time.)
2. The AG is alleging murder. There is a fine medical line between alleviating pain and deliberately killing. I have witnessed a doctor prescribing painkillers to a patient in terrible suffering. The patient died shortly after the painkillers were administered. No one objected. Relatives and friends thought it was a good decision. The doctor was not investigated.
Maybe the investigation of Dr. Pou and the nurses is warranted, however, the AG has also promised to investigate the bridge incident and has held up his report. Why? Could it have to do with the politics of not wanting to offend law enforcement? Or maybe it has to do with the race of the people involved? I can't tell. Can you?
Thanks for the hi-five on the commas.
P.S. I visited your Ozark blog and it's really nice. I really love that country and have often thought it would be a great place to live.
Thanks for stopping by. Don't be astranger! I've enjoyed reading about your city, as well.
I was stationed at Keesler AFB in the early 80s and got to visit N.O> several times. Once, during Mardis Gras!
Cheers, Joseph!
I'll bookmark you. If you'd be so gracious, I'd like to link you on my sidebar with a New Orleans heading of some sort.
Let me know!
