Katrina having political repercussions in Connecticut


The congressional investigation into the federal response to Hurricane Katrina, and Fourth District Congressman Christopher Shays' key role in that probe, prompted a stinging response this week from Westport First Selectwoman Diane Farrell, who has established a committee to raise funds to unseat Shays in the 2006 election.

Katrina will have a resonating effect on US politics for quite a while. Those who drop the ball on recovery and reconstruction will be held to account all over the country.
