Political fallout from Katrina.

Many here were already expecting Louisiana to lose one of its seven Congressional seats because of existing out-migration and high growth rates in other states, but the impact of the hurricanes has solidified fears.

And that's not all-- a reduction of N.O. representation in the state legislature, a net loss of black voters, a shift of population from N.O. to B.R. and Lafayette, loss of Federal moniew based on population, and a likely strengthening of Republicans over Democrats.
