Lafayette Local Criticizes Church Response

What has the Catholic Church been doing for evacuees in Lafayette? This reader contends that it's done very little. (Read second letter.)

I tried calling the Diocese's victims assistance coordinator and got only a recorded message that said, "We are not available." The message did not ask to leave a number, call back later or anything. That doesn't make a very good impression on victims or anyone else about the church's willingness to support the community.
