I tried calling the Diocese's victims assistance coordinator and got only a recorded message that said, "We are not available." The message did not ask to leave a number, call back later or anything. That doesn't make a very good impression on victims or anyone else about the church's willingness to support the community.

Lafayette Local Criticizes Church Response
What has the Catholic Church been doing for evacuees in Lafayette? This reader contends that it's done very little. (Read second letter.)
